DIY Coasters

If you are my friend in real life, there is a good chance you will be getting some of these from my for Christmas. I have commited to doing mostly homemade gifts this year. We have exactly 2 months left until Christmas so I have already started. This way I wont feel SO overwhelmed when the actual date comes around.

These fun coasters are so easily made with a bit of scrapbook paper, 16 cent tiles from Lowes, some Modge Podge, and clear coat in a spray can!

These are just a few that I have made so far. It is such a fun Christmas present personalized for friends and family.
On the back of each tile i put some small felt sticky circles to prevent the tile from scraping a table.

Tutorials for similar tile coasters have been going around Pinterest, so I decided to take my own spin on it. I like how the paper leaves a nice white boarder on the edges of these coasters.

Next, I am going to attempt to make some facial scrub!

Fall Garland

We have the most amazing 3 sided fire place in our home. It is actually what sold me on this house. I have decided I want to decorate the mantle/bookshelf part of the fireplace with each season. So yesterday I sat down and cut out some felt leaves using the leaves in my back yard as a template.

I added the veins to the felt to make the leaves look a little more realistic. I really love how they turned out.

Then I decided to finger-knit the garland to go around the whole fireplace mantel. I did this while watching TV since you really do not have to think a lot when doing this. Here is a tutorial on how to finger-knit.

I really love how this turned out! It adds a little fall into our house. It just so happens fall is my favorite season! :)

Welcome!

For a while now I have been wanting to create a new blog aside from our family blog. That blog started off as a way for me to share photos of our daily lives with friends and family from all over.

THIS blog will showcase more of my creative side. I enjoy doing little bits of sewing which I am still learning. I also love handmade decorations and gifts.

So welcome, and I hope you all find some inspiration like I have!
